"It's a lovely dress," he leaned a bit closer so he could say so quietly.
"Thanks," I said, just a tad offended. I mean, it's not like he was wrong.
"I have an idea," he said, brushing dust from his pants as he stood.
"What's that?" I asked, taking the hand he'd extended to help me stand as well.
"What say you to us getting out of here?" he asked, smiling, and it was just a tiny step closer to complete.
I figured this was my best shot at someday seeing what that smile looked like when it was full, so I nodded with a smile of my own.
We were in the same boat, after all, so it seemed suiting that we were headed the same place.
